September 2, November 11, December 23, June 16, July 21
(Please note, April 28 is now a Parent-Teacher Conference Day instead of a half day for planning/meetings, which means the additional day has been added back into the calendar for the children.)
As lead learners in the classroom, our teachers model a commitment to lifelong learning, flexibility, growth, and the desire to always improve their skills and hone their craft. In order to bring our families the high quality care and education they expect, SOWJS will close early one day each month to allow our faculty team time to meet, learn and plan together. These days will occur in each month that does not have another teacher workday or professional development day planned.
August 1-5: Teachers Meet to Set Up Classrooms, Plan the New School Year, Participate in Training (Covid, CPR, Orientation, Health & Safety, Security, etc.)
August 8 & 9: Home Visits Scheduled with Individual Teaching Teams
August 10: Meet & Greet Playground Class Playdates
Teachers and families share observations about the children. What have they accomplished so far this year, what are they working on now, what will we focus on next? Parent-Teacher partnerships are a cornerstone of Seeds of Wonder!
We are thankful for YOU!
January 2 - Teacher Workday, No Classes for Children
Children, parents, faculty and staff have the day off so they can make a difference in our community!
Faculty and Staff participate in the Jewish Early Childhood Council of Atlanta Kallah, a city-wide day of learning for ECE professionals working in Jewish preschools, childcare centers and daycares.
