As a preschool that draws inspiration from the renowned Infant-Toddler Centers and Preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, our progressive philosophy places children at the center of their preschool experience. Recognized as leaders in Early Childhood Education, the schools of Reggio Emilia have been emulated by preschools, daycares and childcare centers worldwide for over 25 years. Newsweek magazine recognized this unique way of educating infants, toddlers and preschoolers in its 1991 issue on the “Best Top Ten Schools in the World”.
At Seeds of Wonder, project based learning and an inclusive preschool learning environment allow children to engage in an emergent curriculum that is designed to provide for each child’s individual needs. We partner with local agencies to provide differentiation and accommodations whenever possible to children with special rights and learning differences, including autism, language processing delays, sensory processing disorder, etc.
Children grow and learn in a loving community and in a warm, cozy, joyful and nurturing Jewish preschool environment. Teachers engage children’s minds and senses through exploration of new ideas in math, science, literacy and social studies. The child-centered philosophy and intentionally smaller class sizes set us apart from the other preschools, daycares and childcare centers in the Roswell area!
Students prepare for more than Kindergarten, they prepare for life! Educational research teaches that strong communication and collaboration skills are crucial for success in school and in the workplace, and these skills are developed during the early childhood years. Children acquire skills and abilities along individual timetables, and the role of the preschool teacher is to carefully craft opportunities for discovery that allow each child to reach their full potential.
We commit to enriching and educating children through meaningful learning experiences that foster the development of the whole child across all domains. Through a dual focus on strong pre-academics and social and emotional skills such as self-advocacy, negotiation and collaboration, children who graduate from SOWJS will be well-prepared for the next step along their journeys.
Located in Roswell's historic district, SOWJS is able to offer walking field trips to places such as Woodstock Park, the Roswell Fire Museum, and downtown shops and galleries. We are excited to be an integral part of the Roswell downtown community!
Housed at Temple Kehillat Chaim, we offer an enriched, hands-on preschool experience steeped in Jewish tradition, including Shabbat and holiday celebrations, and learning about the world through Jewish values and Mitzvot (good deeds, literally commandments), such as giving Tzedakah (charity, literally justice), Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), G'milut Chasadim (acts of loving kindness), Ba'al Tashchit (taking care of our environment), and Hachnasat Orchim (welcoming guests).
